London Classic Car Show 2020
It’s amazing how time flies. It’s strange to think that it has already been a year since we were at the 2019 London Classic Car show. For the first time, this year the show was hosted at its new venue: the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London…
I have had the pleasure of attending Retromobile several times, however last year was my first-time representing Cambridge & Counties Bank. To return this year with over twelve months of funding classic, racing and vintage cars under our belt was rewarding. We had turned a business plan concept into a useful finance solution enjoyed by so many customers throughout 2019…
Car Events of 2020
Whether you’re a classic car enthusiast, owner, expert, or collector. It’s fair to say that nothing is quite as exciting as attending a car event and being surrounded by like-minded people and engineering masterpieces. If you’re struggling to decide on which event to attend this year, we’ve put together a list of our favourites.
Dubai 24 Hours – Angus Fender
My first outing of 2020 took me back to one of my favourite races from last year, the Dubai 24 Hours. As it’s the only flyaway car race I’ve ever competed in, this event is always one I really look forward to, especially this year where I’d be returning to race the BMW M4 I started the 2019 season in.
Our Top Cars of 2019
January, a time for resolutions, reflection and reminiscing about the wonderful cars that we helped finance in 2019. These are cars that have had us in awe, ones that have got us excited and reminded us why this is our passion.
Here is our top 10
British GT 2019: Round 7 Donington
After a remarkable podium on my GT3 debut at Brands Hatch in August, I was looking forward to hopefully building on that for the season finale at Donington Park. The last time I competed in a race here was back in the early stages of the 2018 Ginetta GT4 Supercup season, and it was there I achieved my first ever car racing podium. Eight podiums later and now in a factory supported GT3 car, I felt like a good result was on the cards…
German Youngtimer Track Day 2019
It was my first time at this event, and I was astounded by what I saw and absolutely delighted to see that we need not worry about the next generation of young people and their love for youngtimer cars as well as classics.
The event had restored original cars from the classic and youngtimer era. It also had modified classic and youngtimer cars too. Speaking with these young people who were proudly showing their cars off, it became clear that they adored their machines and had their own interpretation of what was best for their precious cars. I have owned quite a few youngtimer cars. The key for me was originality.
